1917 35,400 people visited Yellowstone.
Below are three photos of about 27 that my great
grandfather took on his trip to Yellowstone in 1917. He drove his car
from Jim Falls Wisconsin to Yellowstone and back. that year between July
and August. I know that he passed through Rosebud and Miles City but I
do not know the route for the rest of the trip. If these are of any
interest to your archive efforts, please let me know and I will e-mail
the remaining photographs.
Part of the reason for this trip was to leave my
grandmother's sister, Ruth Gilman, at Rosebud, MT so that she could
teach school.
