Quality Family Holidays in Yellowstone National Park

December 2, 2005

YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK Gather your family at the Lamar Buffalo Ranch in Yellowstone National Park for an outstanding holiday experience. Join us in discovering the extraordinary wildlife of the Lamar Valley, skiing or snowshoeing in Yellowstone’s winter wonderland, and learning winter ecology through activities, field trips, and discussions. Plan on quality family time, incredible Yellowstone wildlife, and exciting, full days. Families large and small, ages 8 to 99 are welcome.

The seminar, taught by MacNeil Lyons, begins on December 26, 2005 at 6:00 p.m. and ends on December 29, 2005 at 4:00 p.m. Mr. Lyons is a Yellowstone naturalist with ten years of experience designing and teaching educational programs for adults and children.

The program entails short hikes through relatively flat terrain on maintained or snow-packed trails.  Snowshoes or skis, which can be rented locally, are required.
The fee for the course is $260 for adults and $180 for children (Yellowstone Association members get a $10 discount).  Heated cabins can be rented at the Buffalo Ranch for $25.00 per person per night.

The Institute is a nonprofit field school operated by the National Park’s official educational partner, the Yellowstone Association.  The Institute offers a variety of courses in ecology, wilderness skills, and natural history year-round in Yellowstone National Park.

To enroll in this or another field seminar, or to request a catalog that includes a full description of all summer and fall courses, please contact the Yellowstone Association Institute at PO Box 117, Yellowstone National Park, WY 82190  307-344-2294.  Complete information is also available at www.YellowstoneAssociation.org.
