In its annual prediction, Forest Service officials indicate that late summer drought along the mid-Atlantic has caused some trees to already begin losing their leaves and the peak will not be vivid. But fall color in the Northeast, along the Rocky Mountain front range and southern Appalachians should be average to exceptional.
