About Video over the Internet
With the vast majority of my working being in video, I have tried for a long time to come up with an effective way of delivering it over the internet. As most people know, video takes up an extreme amount of disk space. A quarter screen avi file 3 minutes long can take up more than 120 megs of space. Obviously way to large to deliver over the internet (for now anyways). Using the free realplayer, it is possible to deliver audio/video almost instantly but due to the extreme compression required, the quality is low. Still I believe you will find these previews interesting to watch. They are great for giving you an idea of the content of my films
A word about buffering with RealVideo
When you access a RealVideo file over the internet, the player will buffer (load into memory) a portion of the file before it begins playing. As the video clip begins playing it will continue loading the rest of the file. Depending on your connection you can change the "buffering" to make the clips play more efficently. If you have a fast "solid" connection you can make the clips begin to play faster by changing the amount of buffering. Open your RealPlayer - Now depending on what version you have - G2 users go to "options" and select "preferences" then select "connection". RealPlayer5 users go to "view" and select "preferences" then "general" You will see a section labeled "buffered play". If you have a fast connection then select "buffer at least___seconds before playing" I suggest 30 seconds. If you have a slow connection and clips tend to stop halfway and have to rebuffer then besure "buffer entire clip up to available memory" is selected. This will take alittle longer before the clip begins playing but should prevent if from stopping halfway.
SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS: Colors of your monitor must be set to 16 bit or higher and a sound card must be installed on your computer.
