Filmed entirely in our National Parks of the Lower 48

PREVIEW ONE - In this preview Bear expert Gary Brown gives some thoughts on the Grizzly Bear. Gary Brown was in charge of Bears in Yellowstone for over 10 years and in Alaska for 11 years. He is the author of "The Great Bear Almanac". The Grizzly Bear in this preview was filmed in Glacier National Park and was estimated to weigh over 600 pounds.

PREVIEW TWO - In this preview we learn about the dangers of encountering a bear in the wild, and things to do to prevent one - in particular sows with cubs. The grizzly at the end of this clip was my only close encounter (with a grizzly) during the years I have spent filming in bear country. I didn't surprise it - it surprised me. I was two miles in on a trail in Glacier National Park, filming a ground squirrel, when I turned around and this bear was running up the trail straight at me. When I showed this to bear management, they informed me that the sway seen in this clip is the last thing you see before a charge. Thankfully it didn't. The trail was closed after this for over two weeks and during that time a Bear Management ranger was charged by this bear.
