Friday I woke up to freezing weather, frozen toes and a frozen water bottle.  All my clothes, thank God, were warm and dry.  We broke camp and knocked down the quinzhees.  The walk to the ride back to camp warmed my feet long enough so I could get to the hot shower, which had never felt better!  Jordan

The ski out of the quinzhees on Friday was really hard.  My feet hurt so badly when they were warming up, I kept thinking if only I had had another pair of socks, I wouldn’t have had to go through all this pain.  It was sad to leave; I wish I could have stayed longer.  I hope to go back some day.  I hope every seventh grader has as much fun next year and they stay safe.  Eric

Looking back on the trip I learned that our class can do anything that they put their minds to.  This class can help each other as long as we have a common goal.  I really enjoyed being out in the wilderness.  I believe I helped the class out and I found that I have a nitch for being outdoors.  Ben K.

Today was the hardest day of my life. I didn’t believe I could get colder, boy was I wrong!  Soon I couldn’t grip the ski poles; my fingers went numb and white.  Yep, frost bite had set in. The trip was a great experience; our class pulled together and was strong.  Molly

Brittany L. said” I think the most memorable thing that happened today was the closing.  Almost everyone was crying.  I have really enjoyed this week and I am amazed

 at all that we did!!”

Ben H. said “Looking back on the Yellowstone Trip I know I’ll remember it for the rest of my life, especially the environment and the people.  The trip taught me a lot about appreciating God’s creation.  Being able to see wildlife like elk, wolves, and coyotes was very rewarding.

Friday was a fun day.  We skied out from the quinzhees, a bunch had frost bite.   It was really cold, but I still slept well.   We packed up and left.

For Taylor the trip was easier than expected.

William wasn’t feeling well and was thankful for the adult chaperones that walked in to the quinzhees on Friday morning.  The car ride home was quick and painless.

The trip was great.  We got to do things no one else has done before.  I didn’t stay warm the entire trip.  Karissa amazed me.  Christina

“I had fun breaking down the quinzeehs . It was weird that I had more facial hair than Mr. L.”  Jeffery

Emmi was very cold.  She said, “I learned not rely on myself, but on others.”

Mitchell’s ski boots were frozen.

Gideon liked the way everyone worked together.  He also said,”it was scary when the bison ran by us on our way to the quinzhees.”

Karissa says that she is now a true mountain woman with high heels and a manicure.  She called her quinzeeh,  “ The Buffalo Poop Shack” because of the huge buffalo herd seen on route to the quinzeeh.  She also said the trip was amazing and fun.  She learned a lot about herself, her classmates and other things, too.

Mr. L made fun of Macy, because she was so small.  She didn’t like it.  She did most of the work, after all!!  Macy learned a lot about her class mates and herself.

Kaiti didn’t like all the pictures with the quinzhees.  She was so happy to be going home.

Bob was excited that he slept the whole night but his feet got very cold and blistered.Danae says that she saw God everywhere, in the mountains, in the trees, in the snow, and even in us.  Danae thought she would not be sad to leave this cold wasteland, but she was.   The class bonded a lot and it was a once- in – a -lifetime experience.

Andy thought the worst part of the trip was unpacking when he got home, but got tired of watching TV in the car.( we feel so sorry for him!)  Andy was surprised at the temperature change between Billings and Yellowstone.

Alston said, “the hardest part was getting along with certain students.  Alston liked the skiing, especially the Blacktail, and enjoyed seeing the bull elk.”
